Ken Ellis Memorial Park

About Our Park
The Ken Ellis Memorial Park was created in 1967 when community leaders decided to band together to create an area for the children of Campbell's Creek to play.
Many people gave of their time, talent, and resources to raise money and literally raise an amazing park out of a muddy thistle covered bog.

Lots of Green Space
One of the things that mental health advocates learned during the Covid-19 crisis was how valuable green spaces are to good mental health.

Spaces like ours promote exercise opportunity helping to alleviate stress.
Research has shown that those who spend more time in areas like our park find they have enhanced cognitive function, better attention, they are less likely to display anxiety disorders and depression and more likely to report high levels of happiness and well-being.

For that reason one facet of our mission is to encourage outdoor play for all.

It doesn't matter if you are a young girl learning to hit a softball for the first time or a retired couple that just enjoys walking around our quarter-mile lit walking track we want you at our park.

Our overall mission is to provide a clean, safe green space where all are welcome to play, exercise and relax.
